Triveni camping site inundated by flash flood in Teesta River

Triveni, 6th October: The camping site at the Teesta River in Triveni has been inundated by the disastrous flash flood. It has to be noted that a large number of tourists, including tourists from far-off places visit the site for camping and spend the night. In addition, tourists also engage in adventures, such as river rafting.

As per reports, the destructive flash flood left no trace of the beautiful camping site of Triveni which once remained crowded with tourists. That river bank which held the camping site now remains several feet under the water. Following the disaster, uncertainty prevails as to when the site would turn normal. In addition, road connectivity has also been disrupted.

Following the significant rise in the water level of the Teesta River, on Tuesday night, water flowed above that road. Houses and shops attached to Teesta Bazar have been swept away by water currents. Several shops established in the area of the Triveni camping site, which sustained the livelihood of numerous families, have also been swept away.
