Annapurna Yojana applicants protest over not receiving benefits in Siliguri

Siliguri, 20th August: Women applicants expressed anger at the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Officer’s office on Thursday over not receiving benefits under the Annapurna Yojana.

The applicants claimed that they had contacted the concerned department several times after applying for the scheme. They were reportedly told each time that an enquiry would be conducted at their homes.

However, the applicants alleged that nearly two months have passed since they submitted their applications, but no enquiry has been conducted so far.

They further claimed that they had submitted all the required documents to the concerned department and had receipts confirming the submission. However, the online application status continues to show that the documents have not been submitted.

Expressing frustration over the issue, the applicants visited the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Officer’s office and raised their concerns.
