Siliguri, 15th May: A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday where three individuals were tragically killed in a road accident on National Highway 27 in the Kantibhita area of Phansidewa. Additionally, 28 others suffered significant injuries in the incident.
According to reports, the passengers were boarding a pickup van en route from Helagachh in Phansidewa on the way to a wedding ceremony. In an attempt to overtake a truck in the Kantibhita area, the pickup van lost control and met with an accident. Consequently, the passengers boarding the pickup van were gravely injured.
Upon receiving the information of the incident, the police force of the Phansidewa police station and the Ghoshpukur Outpost rushed to the scene. The injured were rescued and transferred to the Phansidewa Rural Hospital and then referred to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). During this, three injured were declared dead by the doctors. Meanwhile, the police have started investigating the entire incident.
