Trader robbed of Rs 26 thousand in Siliguri

Siliguri, 09th August: Sensation prevailed after a trader was looted by a group of miscreants, on Sunday night. The incident surfaced from the Fakdaibari More near Siliguri.


Naveen Mandal, a resident of Vidyasagar Road, Ward 36 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, was on his way home at around 9 pm last night when he was confronted by a group of miscreants who asked him for money. When he refused to do so, they attacked him with a sharp weapon and fled away after snatching cash and a gold chain from him. After the incident, the locals rescued Mandal and rushed him to Siliguri District Hospital.

Following this, the trader lodged a written complaint at the Ashighar outpost. An investigation has been initiated into the whole matter. Meanwhile, the victim Naveen Mandal said that many such episodes have taken place in the past also. “I want justice,” he demanded.
