Naxalbari, 08th September: In accordance with the order of the National Green Tribunal, the Naxalbari police seized a tractor laden with stones along with the driver for illegally quarrying sand and stones from the Mechi River. In the incident, a youth has also been arrested.
According to the local sources, the driver was arrested with the stone-laden tractor after conducting an operation in the Jhapu Jote area under the Naxalbari block. The accused has been identified as Rajesh Barman (18), a resident of Tarabari. Today the accused has been produced in the Siliguri Departmental Court.
