Toto theft gang busted in Siliguri, 2 arrested

Siliguri, 02nd June: Following a surge in incidents of e-rickshaw (toto) theft in the area, the Pradhan Nagar police apprehended two individuals identified as Tinku Barman and Ganesh Jha, both residents of Ward No. 01, Panchanan Colony of Siliguri.


According to reports, the duo is infamous for their involvement in toto theft from various locations under the jurisdiction of Pradhan Nagar Police Station. One such incident occurred on April 27th when a toto was stolen near Siliguri Junction, prompting the victim to file a written complaint at the local police station.

Taking prompt action, the undercover cops of the Pradhan Nagar Police Station initiated an operation last night and successfully arrested both individuals. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Ganesh Jha played a pivotal role as the mastermind behind the series of thefts. Today, the police presented both suspects before the Siliguri court, seeking remand to facilitate further investigations.
