Siliguri, 24th January: A case of theft under broad daylight has surfaced from the area of Siliguri’s Gatebazar Pipeline area. On Monday afternoon, a toto driver absconded after stealing a gas cylinder. The entire incident has been captured on a CCTV camera.
Reportedly, a gas cylinder delivery boy, Mahiruddin Julani had gone to deliver cylinders in his three-wheeler in the Gatebazar pipeline area. He left the vehicle on the roadside and went to deliver the cylinder inside a house. When he returned, he saw spotted a toto driver running away with a cylinder from Mahiruddin’s vehicle. Despite chasing the thief, Mahiruddin failed to get hold of him.
The entire incident has been captured on CCTV camera of a house in the area. Mahiruddin lodged a written complaint in this regard at the NJP police station on Monday evening. Based on the complaint, the police have started investigating the entire incident. Mahiruddin Julani said that gas cylinders were stolen four times from his vehicle.
