Siliguri, 18th January: Sensation ensued after a toto driver was accused of attempting to kidnap five school girls in Siliguri. The incident surfaced from Siliguri’s Jhankar More area this afternoon.
Reportedly, the five students sat in the toto in front of Rajendra Prasad School in Siliguri and had to go towards the 4th Mahananda Bridge but allegedly the toto driver took a detour and headed towards Sabzi Mandi after crossing Jhankar More. Despite telling the driver of the wrong route he allegedly did not comply and after which a student jumped off the moving E-Rickshaw. After this, the toto driver stopped Toto for some time. After which the four girl students got down from the toto. Before the people of the area could understand anything, the Toto driver fled.
Later the information about the incident was given to the police of Khalpara Out Post. Councilor Vivek Singh also reached the spot after getting the news. The police of Khalpara Out Post have started investigating the matter after going through the CCTV footage installed in the area.
