Kharibari, 09th May: After the former Kharibari Block President Shailen Chandra Das passed away last night, an atmosphere of grief engulfed the Kharibari area.
Upon receiving the news of his death, the Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress president Ranjan Sarkar visited his house on Saturday and paid a tribute by laying a wreath at his portrait. He also expressed his condolences to the family members.
Sarkar stated that Das, who had been the Block President for the past 15 years, was a devoted worker of the party. He also worked as a member of the party’s state committee. ‘It was very saddening to hear the sudden demise of Das’, he added.
