Siliguri, 30th November: If someone comes to your house claiming to have a chemical powder that cleans and brings shine to your gold ornaments, be on your guard. Once again, a gang of fraudsters has become active in the name of cleaning gold and silver jewellery. A case has come to the fore from the area of Dabgram under Ward No. 23.
A woman named Rupa Saha got trapped in the snare of thugs. According to her, today two people had come to her house in the name of cleaning utensils. During this, she first gave the brass utensils, which the men cleaned with material like powder. After this, she gave them a gold chain, locket, and rings to clean. Allegedly, they put the jewellery inside a box to be cleaned and asked Rupa to open the box after 10 minutes. After they left Rupa was shocked to see inside the box as the gold ornaments were missing from it. Only a few stones were lying in it.
The incident has caused a sensation in the entire area. On the other hand, the matter was informed to the Siliguri Police. Based on the complaint, the police have started investigating the incident.
