Naxalbari, 28th January: During the investigation in the case of ‘sea horse’ smuggling, the police recovered another 8 kg of the sea horse. Three more have also been arrested in the said case by the joint team of Ghoshpukur Forest Department and Naxalbari Police along with Sea Horse.
It is to be noted that, last Tuesday a person was arrested by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Ghoshpukur and Tukariajhar Forest Department of Kurseong Division with more than 5 kg sea horse. After interrogating the arrested person, more than 8 kg sea horse was recovered from the Naxalbari area on Saturday. At the same time, three people have also been arrested.
The arrested have been identified as Jeevan Thapa, Sujit Tamang, and Kankan Raha. Meanwhile, the Forest Department has started to search for the prime accused Manoj Roy.
