Siliguri, 26th February: In a major breakthrough, Pradhan Nagar police have arrested three individuals involved in the theft of advertising hoardings and banner frames. The accused have been identified as Gopal Das, Sudip Malo, and Yusuf Azad. Gopal Das and Sudip Malo are residents of the Ektiasal area.
According to reports, several hoardings, banners, and flex boards installed by advertising agencies had been stolen from various locations in Siliguri over the past few days. Multiple complaints were lodged at different police stations regarding the incidents. Acting on these complaints, Pradhan Nagar police launched an investigation and apprehended the suspects.
With the help of CCTV footage, the police first identified and arrested Gopal Das and Sudip Malo. During interrogation, the duo revealed that they sold the stolen flex frames and iron pieces to Yusuf Azad, a scrap dealer from Jhankar More, Kuli Para area.
Following this information, the police arrested Yusuf Azad as well. All three accused were produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday. Further investigations into the case are underway.
