Thieves looted two shops in Thakur Nagar area of Eastern Bypass adjacent to Siliguri

Siliguri, 21st March: An incident of theft came to light where two shops in Thakur Nagar area of Eastern Bypass adjacent to Siliguri city were looted. The miscreants fled with mobile phones and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees by cutting the tin shed and ceiling.


As per reports, on Wednesday night, miscreants entered the shops by cutting the tin shed and ceiling of a mobile shop and an electronics repair shop in the said area. About 30 to 35 mobile phones and other valuable items kept inside the shop along with several thousand rupees in cash were stolen from the cash box.

The following morning, the owners learned about the theft after opening the shops. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the police. Upon receiving the news, New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the entire incident after examining the CCTV footage.
