Siliguri, 04th December: Acting promptly and taking swift action the Bhaktinagar police arrested a thief within 24 hours of the happening. Not only this the cops also retrieved the stolen goods from his possessions. The arrested has been identified as Deepankar Roy alias Gusti.
According to police sources, the incident of theft was carried out by cutting the tin roof of a hardware shop in the Rai Colony area under Bhakti Nagar police station on December 03.
Taking the matter into their hands, the Bhaktinagar police arrested the crook within 24 hours from the Fauji Mart area of Ward No. 42 after the incident was registered in the police station. After interrogating the accused, the police also recovered all the hidden stolen goods. Today the accused Deepankar Roy was presented in the Jalpaiguri court after registering a case under relevant sections.
