Theft worth lakhs from a vacant residence in Siliguri

Siliguri, 30th November: An incident of theft surfaced from the Suryasen Colony More Bazaar area of Siliguri where miscreants took advantage of a vacant house and robbed worth lakhs.


According to reports, two sisters, residents of the said area saved about Rs 1.5 lakh in cash along with jewelry by working in a shop. On Wednesday night, they went to their maternal uncle’s residence. The following morning, they discovered the theft after returning home. The incident left the sisters distraught.

In this regard, the victims stated that they saved money, made jewelry for marriage by working, and had not anticipated such an incident. Later, a written complaint was filed at the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. Currently, the police are engaged in investigating the entire incident.
