Theft in vacant railway quarter in Siliguri; one caught during second attempt

Siliguri, 21st March: A theft occurred in a railway quarter near Kanchenjunga Stadium in Ward No. 12 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation while the residents were away.


According to reports, Pradip Sarkar and his family had left for Chennai for medical treatment on February 14. Upon returning home early Friday morning, they discovered that their house had been looted. A gang of thieves had broken the lock and stolen various belongings.

The Panitanki Outpost police were immediately informed, and they arrived to investigate the case. However, after the police left, a young man attempted to break into the house again through a window.


Pradip Sarkar, realizing the intrusion, caught the suspect red-handed and handed him over to the police.
