Cooch Behar, 22nd November: Stir arose after an incident of theft in a gold shop surfaced from the area of Shalmara Bazar of Dinhata in Cooch Behar district.
According to police sources, on Monday night a gang of 10 to 15 people broke the shutter of the said gold shop and fled away with gold ornaments and cash. The shop owner Anant Sarkar reached the spot as soon as he got the information from the police.
The owner of the shop revealed that the thieves broke the cash box and stole cash amounting to Rs 25,000 along with gold and silver jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. The police have started investigating the entire incident.
