Siliguri, 17th April: A theft at the Shiva Temple located within the Siddheshwari Kalibari on SF Road in Siliguri has sparked concern among local residents.
According to reports, the incident took place early Friday morning. An unidentified individual allegedly stole the donation box kept inside the temple and fled the scene. The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras installed within the temple premises.
In a surprising turn, the accused was seen offering prayers inside the temple after committing the theft, before making his escape.
Following the discovery of the incident later in the morning, a written complaint was lodged at Siliguri Police Station. Police have begun investigating the matter based on CCTV footage.
Jayanta Saha, a member of the temple committee, condemned the act and urged authorities to identify the culprit at the earliest. He also appealed to the public to assist in identifying the accused if they have any relevant information.
