Cooch Behar, 23rd January: Tension ensued over BJP’s Zonal Conference under Dinhata which is all set to take place on January 24 at Matalhat Health Center under Dinhata’s Block 1. BJP alleged that the TMC flag was hoisted at the said ground on Monday morning. On having a discussion with the local TMC leaders, a dispute arose between the workers of both parties ensuing tension in the area. The BJP further questioned the flag that was hoisted at the ground despite BJP having the permission. However, TMC has denied all the allegations made by BJP. On the other hand, Dinhata police reached the spot as soon as the news of the incident was received.
In this regard, BJP Cooch Behar District Committee member Jaideep Ghosh said that despite having permission, TMC hoisted their party flag on the ground. After informing the matter to police authority, the police administration asked to hold the conference on the ground after 28th January. However, Jaideep Ghosh added that the Zonal Conference will be held at the appointed date and time and if tension arises the administration will take care of it.
On the other hand, TMC leader Abdul Jalil Ahmed said that on the 28th, their worker’s conference will be organized on the grounds of Matalhat Health Center whose permission has also been taken. Accordingly, the work commenced today. Stating this he added that BJP has no permission to organize any conference on the said date and further claimed that all the allegations are baseless.
