Cooch Behar, 05th November: Tension ensued in the premises of Tufanganj Sub-Divisional Hospital after a bed broke of a patient admitted to the hospital’s maternity ward. The woman sustained a back injury in the said accident.
The patient’s family expressed anguish against the hospital management after the incident. The patient’s husband Biplab Das said that his wife Shilpi Das was admitted to the Tufanganj Sub-Divisional Hospital last Wednesday with labour pain and gave birth on the same day through C-section. After giving birth she was admitted to the obstetrics department.
This morning suddenly the bed she was resting on broke and the woman fell down injuring her back. The patient’s husband said he would lodge a written complaint against the hospital at the Tufanganj police station and the hospital superintendent.
In this regard, Superintendent M Adhikari of Tufanganj Hospital said that it was an accident and the matter has been resolved immediately.
