Siliguri, 04th December: Sensation prevailed in the area of South Ambedkar Colony of Ward No. 01 after a tenant absconded after murdering the owners of the house.
Reportedly, the accused have been identified as Bikash Panjiar who had been living in the said rented house of MD Shahzad and Ganga Chhetri for several months. Petty squabbles used to arise frequently between the owner and Bikash for not paying the rent. As per the locals, around last 09:30 PM last night, people heard the sounds of screaming from the said house. On reaching they found the couple lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
They were taken to the district hospital where the doctors declared Ganga Chhetri dead. At the same time, MD Shahzad sustained injuries and given his serious condition he was admitted to a private hospital.
As soon as the news of the incident was received, the police of Pradhan Nagar police station reached the spot. Along with this, Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi and ACP also reached and inspected the spot. Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi said that while taking forward the investigation of the case, the search for the accused has been started.
On the other hand, Ward Councilor Sanjay Pathak told that MD Shahzad and his wife Ganga Chhetri were good people. He further demanded severe punishment for the accused. However, the police and DD team of Pradhan Nagar police station are investigating the entire incident and is currently looking for the murderer.
