Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary celebrated in North Bengal as Vivek Chetna Utsav

Various programmes were organized at several places in North Bengal to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. Swami Vivekanand was paid tribute in various social institutions, schools, and colleges. Along with this, Vivek Chetna Utsav was organized in many places.


Cooch Behar: Vivek Chetna Utsav Cooch Behar municipal level was organized today at Cooch Behar Maharani Indira Devi High School on behalf of the Youth Welfare Department of the Government of West Bengal to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. On the occasion, a procession was taken out in front of the Cooch Behar District Office. Pawan Kadian Cooch Behar District Magistrate was present in the procession along with Municipal Chairman Bhushan Singh. Students from various schools participated in the rally. The procession ended at the Maharani Indira Devi School, where various programmes were held today.


Naxalbari: Meanwhile, many programmes were organized by Naxalbari Sri Ramakrishna Ashram. The event kickstarted with a marathon from Panighata Kadma More to the Ashram. Many athletes took part in the marathon race. A large number of dignitaries were present on this occasion, including SSB Frontier Siliguri IG Shrikumar Bandyopadhyay, Swami Nityananda Maharaj.

Panitanki: On the other hand, a programme was also organized in Panitanki Adarsh village. The event was attended by all the people of the village and members of the Sanskar Kendra. Phasidewa constituency President of Surya Foundation Prashant Chakraborty and the people from Bharat Youth Club were present as the chief guests at the event.

Bagdogra: A cleanliness drive was organized by the Walkers Association of Bagdogra to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The Bagdogra Smile Group also participated actively in this campaign. The cleanliness drive was carried out from Bagdogra Airport More to Panighata More, in which children from different schools also participated. Bagdogra police In-charge Dipankar Goswami was chiefly present in the event.

North Dinajpur: Along with the entire state, Vivek Chetna Utsav was organized at North Dinajpur Islampur Matikunda High School and Nandajhar High School in Goalpokhar. Vivek Chetna Utsav was celebrated with various cultural programmes, in which the students from various schools participated enthusiastically. Many people including distinguished social worker Zakir Hussain. Satyaranjan Vishwas was present as the chief guest at Vivek Chetna Utsav at the Nandajhar High School. Besides several events at the school, football matches were also organized.
