Naxalbari, 12th January: Swami Vivekananda’s 161st birth anniversary was celebrated under the aegis of Naxalbari’s Ramakrishna Mission. During the occasion of Swamiji’s birth anniversary, a marathon of about 12km was organized from Naxalbari’s Kadma More to Kotiyajote.
Reportedly, around 900 participants from different parts of the district participated in the said marathon. Later a grand procession was also taken out during which children, students, and parents of various schools participated in the said procession. Also, various programs have been organized in Ramakrishna Mission throughout the day.
During the marathon, the District Magistrate of Darjeeling S. Ponnambalam, the Chairman of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Arun Ghosh, members of Naxalbari Panchayat, and members of Ramakrishna Mission were present.
