Swami Vivekananda remembered on his 161st birth anniversary in Siliguri

Siliguri, 12th January: Along with the entire nation, the 161st birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was observed in Siliguri as well. Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary was celebrated by various voluntary organizations, political parties, and several clubs in the city.


Today, Siliguri’s Mayor Goutam Deb unveiled the restored statue of Swami Vivekananda located at Swamihi More of Ward No. 15 in Siliguri. At the same time, the mayor paid tribute to Vivekananda’s statue by lighting a lamp and offering garlands to it.

During this, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation and Councilor of Ward No. 15 Ranjan Sarkar, Municipal Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, members of the Swamiji Club, and monks of Math were also present.
