Rajganj, 22nd February: The residents of the Madhya Balabari area of Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat (GP) of Rajganj are troubled due to the disruption of drinking water service for almost 10 days following a PHE pipeline burst while installing electric poles in the area.
According to locals, the work of the electricity department to install electric poles on the roadside is underway. During this, the water pipeline was broken and has not been repaired yet. Consequently, the residents of the village are living in a water crisis as the water from domestic wells or tube wells contains a high amount of iron. For survival, several people fetched water from sources several kilometers away, for which they demanded immediate restoration of the pipeline.
Meanwhile, Sannyasikata Anchal President Roshan Habib stated that he was not alerted about the matter earlier and learned about the problems on Wednesday. He added that the pipes would be repaired soon and the water supply would resume.
