Students block road in demand of ban on movement of trucks on VIP road of Jabrabhita 

Siliguri, 02nd December: A few days ago eight-year-old student Ankit Roy was killed in a road accident while he was on his way to school on VIP Road, Jabrabhita. Following the incident, students from various schools joined to protest by blocking the road demanding a ban on the movement of FCI and IOC trucks. 


Reportedly, today the students took out a rally from Baribhasha Thangbhanga More, circumambulated the VIP road and reached in front of the Jabrabhita Hanuman temple. There the students staged a road blockade carrying placards, demanding a ban on the movement of FCI and IOC trucks on VIP road during school hours from 9 am to 11 am and from 3 pm to 5 pm. 

On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the NJP Police and Traffic Guard reached the spot. After getting assurance from the police, the students withdrew from the road blockade. However, the students said they would launch a massive agitation in the coming days if the demands were not met.
