Student commits suicide after failing a class in Bagdogra

Bagdogra, 28th March: Tragedy befell in the Bhujiapani area of Bagdogra after a ninth grade student committed suicide due to failure in examinations. The deceased, identified as Rohit Das (15), was a student of the Bagdogra Kendriya Vidyalaya.


According to reports, the exam results were announced on Wednesday and Rohit had failed the exam. As a result, Rohit was deeply affected leading to a mental breakdown. On Thursday morning, Rohit’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his residence. Subsequently, the family members immediately rushed Rohit to a private hospital near Shiv Mandir where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation into the incident and the body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination. The incident has led to an atmosphere of widespread mourning in the area.
