Dhupguri, 17th August: Based on a tip-off, the forest department raided a house in the Garkhuta area under Jhar Altagram No. 2 Gram Panchayat of Dhupguri and recovered stolen sal wood worth 2 lakh rupees.
It has been learned that a joint operation of the Dhupguri Police and Forest Department was carried out at the house of Ayodhya Roy on Tuesday. A large number of stolen sal wood was recovered from the house.
Apparently, the man had bought the stolen sal wood at a low price for household work. The forest department has started an investigation into the whole incident.
