SSB Raids in Kharibari: Three arrested with brown sugar at separate locations

Kharibari, 29th March: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) conducted raids at two different locations in Kharibari and arrested three individuals with brown sugar. The arrested accused are Surai Hansda (33) and Bhaiya Murmu (22), from Kharibari, and Jitesh Sherpa (28), a resident of Nepal.


According to reports, on Thursday night, the officials of the SSB’s 41st Battalion conducted a tip-off operations near the India-Nepal border in Kharibari and apprehended two suspects. During the operation, approximately 200 grams of brown sugar were seized from the possession of the apprehended individuals. Subsequently, both suspects were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, in another incident, the SSB arrested a youth with 96 grams of brown sugar from the Dudhgate area of Kharibari. Later, the SSB handed over all three arrested individuals to the Kharibari police station. On Friday, the accused was presented in the Siliguri court while the police are engaged in a detailed investigation.
