Bagdogra, 01st February: SOG and Bagdogra police recovered brown sugar worth 1 crore 75 lakh rupees. A person identified as Abdul Rauf Biswas was arrested in the incident. He is a resident of Kaliachak in Malda.
It has been learned that acting on a tip-off, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and Bagdogra Police conducted a joint operation and arrested a person at Panighata more yesterday. 850 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession.
He was sent to Siliguri court on Tuesday. Police are investigating the whole incident.
