Siliguri, 16th February: The SOG team of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and Bagdogra police conducted a joint operation on Tuesday and arrested two persons with 500 grams of brown sugar from Bihar More in Bagdogra.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Alamumin and Dhruva Chettri. They are residents of Malda and Kharibari respectively.
According to police sources, Mohammad Alamumin reached Bihar More from Malda in a bus. Police caught him red-handed while he was handing over the brown sugar to Dhruva Chhetri. The market value of the recovered brown sugar is estimated to be around one crore rupees.
The arrested accused individuals were sent to Siliguri court today.
