Kharibari, 24th March: Chaos ensued among a bus full of passengers in Kharibari’s Batasi after they noticed smoke coming out of the bus. The passengers narrowly escaped the major accident.
Reportedly, the bus was heading from Galgalia toward Siliguri on Friday. In mid-way, suddenly smoke started coming out of the bus on the Batasi National Highway of Kharibari. On seeing the smoke panic ensued among the passengers and they hurriedly got off the bus. Within no time, the national highway was filled with black smoke.
Traffic came to a standstill due to the incident. On the other hand, after getting the information, the Kharibari police reached the spot. However, the smoke coming out of the bus had stopped by then. In this regard, bus driver Bappi Barman said that the said incident occurred due to mechanical reasons and, no one was injured in the incident.
