SMC polls 2022: Administrative meeting held in Dinabandhu Mancha

Siliguri, 11th February: Voting for the SMC elections 2022 will be held tomorrow for which an administrative meeting was held in Dinabandhu Mancha on Thursday. To conduct peaceful elections 502 booths were churned in the presence of SDO, senior officials, and Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma.


During the meeting, it has been decided to keep 2772 police officials stationed in the polling booths for which 1500 police officers called from outside. 12 inspector ranks, 200 SI and ASI, 500 constables, 60 women constables will be stationed on the election grounds for security.

According to the information, there are around 502 polling booths in the municipal elections, out of which 18% have been identified as sensitive polling stations. For the sensitive polling booths, special police watch and tight security have been arranged.


After the meeting, Police commissioner Gaurav Sharma stated that the preparations have been arranged according to the State Election Commission’s orders. One officer and two armed police personnel will be present in 1 to 3 polling stations, one officer and four-armed policemen will be kept in 4 to 10 polling stations while the metropolitan distance SOG has also been kept on alert. 14 senior police officers, 302 police officers have been kept under the security arrangements.
