SMC poll: TMC accused of obstructing BJP’s election campaign

Siliguri, 07th February: Before SMC election, candidates from different wards are submitting various complaints to the administration.


This time, allegations were levelled against Trinamool Congress for obstructing the election campaigning of the opposition parties. On Monday, BJP lodged a verbal complaint against Trinamool at Siliguri police station. Ward No. 12 BJP candidate Nantu Paul lodged a complaint at the police station in the presence of Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh and Phansidewa MLA Durga Murmu.

Nantu Paul accused the ruling party of obstructing the election campaigns of other parties. He expressed concern over possible unrest in the ward on the day of the election. Hence, an appeal has been made to the administration to conduct peaceful polls.


Likewise, MLA Shankar Ghosh said that an appeal has been made to the administration to maintain law and order on the day of the election.

On the other hand, Minister Arup Biswas and Goutam Deb said that Trinamool will not take responsibility for CPIM and BJP and denied all allegations.
