Siliguri, 27th July: The officials of Siliguri Municipal Corporation carried out a demolition drive against illegal encroachment on government land at Don Bosco Road under Siliguri’s Bhaktinagar Police Station. A huge police force and engineers of SMC carried out the drive on Monday following all government regulations.
As per allegations, the administration had earlier asked the residents to remove the construction but no required steps were taken on their behalf.
It is to be noted, no houses were demolished keeping in mind the ongoing lockdown. Only the shops situated on government land were torn down.
