Siliguri, 14th February: Trinamool Congress won the Siliguri Municipal Corporation election with a total of 37 seats. However, several TMC councilors faced defeat and among them, some were former councilors.
Candidates like Khushboo Mittal, Pradeep Goel, Parimal Mitra, Bedobrata Dutta, Dhiman Bose, Saroj Goenka, Uma Goel, Sanjeev Chakraborty, Bimal Ghosh, and Sushmita Bose Maitra have lost.
It is to be noted that Khushboo Mittal, who was the councilor of ward no. 08, had won as a BJP candidate in 2015. Pradeep Goel was the candidate for Ward number 9. He had won last time and was the Borough chairman. While Parimal Mitra was a CPIM councilor for many years, Bedabrata Dutta was the spokesperson of the Darjeeling district Trinamool Congress.
