SJDA is treating the development works as a ‘stepchild’: Mayor Councillor Shankar Ghosh

Siliguri, 20th January: Addressing the reporters, today, the Mayor Councillor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation and the Councillor of Ward No. 24, Shankar Ghosh, alleged that the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) is treating the development works as a ‘stepchild’.

It was reported that CCTV cameras were installed in most areas of the Municipal Corporation’s Ward No. 20 in view of security. It has been reported that the said CCTV cameras have been installed in this Ward by spending approximately 10 lakhs rupees allocated from the SJDA. Ghosh raised questions as to why SJDA has installed cameras in Ward No 20 only out of the 47 wards of the Municipal Corporation.

Shankar Ghosh stated that the SJDA is adopting a biased attitude in the development works. He further alleged that the SJDA is conducting development works in the Wards rule by the Trinamool Congress. He demanded that cameras be installed by the SJDA for the safety of every Ward at the earliest.
