Siliguri’s voluntary organization raises voice against the sale of tricolour masks

Siliguri, 11th August: In light of the ongoing pandemic, tricolour masks were spotted being sold in the city’s various markets ahead of the 74th Independence Day of India. However, a voluntary organization in Siliguri strongly objected to it and stepped forward to ban the sales of such masks.

The organization members stated that people tend to dispose of used face masks into the trash bins. Hence, disposing of tricolour masks will be completely against the Flag Code of India.

Today, after sighting the tricolour masks in various markets of the city, they launched operations at the market areas after taking permission from the police administration.

The members raised awareness among the traders in this regard today and urged them as well as the general public to not sell and buy tricolour masks. However, their campaign will continue until August 14.
