Siliguri, 16th January: Mayor Goutam Deb today held a meeting with around 90 market members under Siliguri Greater Retail Traders Committee in the hall of Siliguri Kangchenjunga Stadium.
Apart from the Mayor, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar and other people were present in the said meeting, highlighting several business problems today. Thousands of traders are earning their livelihoods doing business in various markets on the railway land. However, it is alleged that the Railways have suddenly spoken of removing the said markets which has raised concerns and worries among traders.
After listening to the problems and grievances of the traders and business people, Mayor Goutam Deb assured that the issue will be resolved by holding a separate meeting with the members of the market.
