Siliguri, 07th November: Siliguri Municipal Corporation has taken initiative to renovate Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium. In regard to this, Mayor Goutam Deb inspected the stadium premises today.
At present, the famous stadium of the city is in poor and dilapidated condition. SMC has taken the responsibility to restore and refurbish the stadium and its premises. Mayor also held a meeting with the officials regarding this and visited to inspect the issues in the stadium.
Speaking on this, Mayor Goutam Deb said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also desires the stadium to be remodelled and thus the SMC will be working towards refurbishing it. Reportedly, various works from the field to the dressing room will be done, gallery, hall, parking and many more. Adding to this, he said no hoarding zone will be created in the premises of the stadium.
