Siliguri woman reclaims lost gold jewellery and money at NJP police station

Siliguri, 25th August: A woman from Siliguri’s Bhaktinagar area reclaimed her belongings from NJP police station which she had reportedly lost, on Saturday.


It is to recall that Sarathi Roy, a resident of Siliguri Ward No. 35, sighted a bag lying at the roadside in the Bhaktinagar Pipeline area, on Saturday night. Upon opening the bag, she found cash as well as gold jewellery inside it. Following this, she met the Ward Coordinator Chandrani Mandal and reported the whole matter.

As per the Coordinator’s advice, Roy, on Sunday went to NJP police station and handed over the bag to the police.


After the news was broadcasted in media, Amrita Das Mandal, a resident of the Bhaktinagar area, contacted Sarathi Roy and went to NJP police station along with her on Tuesday. Upon showing suitable evidence, the NJP police then handed over the items to Amrita.
