Siliguri woman falls prey to phone call scam

Siliguri, 15th December: A woman lost 44 thousand rupees after falling prey to a phone call scam, on Tuesday morning.


It has been learned that Priyanka Prasad received a call from an unknown number and was asked to make an online recharge of 11 rupees to resume services of her phone number.

Accordingly, she made a quick recharge using her ATM card. Following this, she was asked to download an app named ’Quick Support’. After downloading this app, a total of 44 thousand rupees was deducted from her bank account.


The victim then approached the administration and lodged a written complaint at the Siliguri Cyber ​​Crime Police Station.
