Siliguri,2nd January: Sensation prevailed after a woman, identified as Saraswati Ghosh died after falling into a well in the Jyoti Nagar area under Bhaktinagar police station.
It was reported that on Thursday morning, Saraswati fell into a well when she went to fetch water. Upon searching for her, the deceased’s family members found her floating inside the well. The locals were not able to rescue her and reported the incident to the fire brigade.
Upon receiving the news of the incident, the firemen rushed to the spot and rescued Saraswati and then immediately rushed her to the Siliguri District Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead. The Police have sent the body to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy and have launched an investigation into the incident.
