Siliguri, 02nd February: City’s veteran author Ratan Biswas has been conferred with the prestigious Bangla Sahitya Akademi Award for 2022-23 by the Fact and Culture Department of the Government of West Bengal for writing books on the culture of various communities of North Bengal.
The author was felicitated by state Education Minister Bratya Basu at Kolkata’s Nandan Manch on January 14. He said that any recognition increases morale as well as the pace of work.
As per the information, Biswas has been writing for the past 50 years. In 1994 he started working on the culture and traditions of various tribal communities of North Bengal. Owing to the value his books are going to add for the generations to come, the Bangla Sahitya Akademi Award was awarded to him.
