Siliguri,15th July: Starting tomorrow, a total lockdown has been imposed across entire Siliguri for 7 days as a containment measure.
A meeting was held today at Siliguri’s State Guest House along with Minister Goutam Deb, DM S.Ponnambalam, Police Commissioner Tripurari Arthav and the task force officials. After the meeting, Minister Goutam Deb announced that a complete lockdown will be observed in Siliguri for the next 7 days. However, emergency services will remain functional.
Contextually, several speculations surfaced across the city after a directive was issued by the state home secretary yesterday. After holding a discussion today, the decision concerning complete lockdown has been finalized.
