Siliguri, 15th May: In light of the COVID-19 lockdown, Siliguri Surya Nagar Samaj Kalyan Sanstha, with the assistance of a community kitchen, stepped forward to help the needy.
As per the report, the organization, since May 3, has been regularly distributing cooked meals among 8 thousand needy people in several wards under SMC, Hatiadanga, Ramnagar, Putinbari, and various other areas.
The association members stated that they have adopted this initiative with the help of the locals and will continue helping the poor until May 17. Nagrakata MLA Shukra Munda, Dabgram-2 Region Pradhan Sudha Sinha Chatterjee, health worker Sonali Samanta, and many other dignitaries highly praised the selfless initiative taken by them amid the pandemic.
