Siliguri resident decides not to celebrate son’s birthday, donates money to fight coronavirus instead

Siliguri, 04th April: In a heart-warming gesture, a family of Siliguri’s Arabinda Pally, decided not to celebrate their son’s birthday and donated the money to fight coronavirus instead. Rudrayan, who turned 5-years-old, gladly accepted his family’s decision.


Bapan Ghosh, the father, and his wife and their two sons visited State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb’s house, today, and handed over a cheque of 25 thousand rupees to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and another of 25 thousand rupees to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. Along with this, the family also distributed about 200 kg of rice, pulses and other items among the poor.

The selfless initiative of the family was highly praised by Minister Goutam Deb. Likewise, Bapan Ghosh and his wife are proud of celebrating their son’s birthday in a unique way and stated that it was a pleasure to help the needy.
