Siliguri, 02nd June: Siliguri Police Commissioner Syed Waquar Raza conducted a surprise inspection of the Siliguri Mahakuma Court complex on Tuesday, along with several senior police officials.
During the visit, the CP first met the judges of the court and discussed judicial procedures, court security arrangements, and related administrative issues.
He then inspected the entire court premises to review infrastructure and facilities. Court Inspector Subhasish Chaki briefed him on several issues, including the poor condition of the GRO room, problems in the court lock-up, and shortage of basic amenities.
The CP examined the GRO room and lock-up and took detailed feedback from officials. He also directed authorities to strengthen security arrangements within the court premises.
Discussions were also held on the security of undertrial prisoners, police coordination in judicial procedures, and measures for faster case disposal.
This was the first court inspection by the Siliguri CP since assuming charge. He assured that necessary steps would be taken to resolve the issues raised during the visit.
