Siliguri orchestra artists attacked during their visit to Mathabhanga for a performance 

Siliguri, 02nd December: A group of orchestral artists of Siliguri had gone to Mathabhanga to perform but were attacked after their performance. Reportedly, the said team from Siliguri’s Deshbandhupara was there to sing in the program at Mathabhanga College on November 29. 


After the college program, they went to a restaurant for dinner. Allegedly several youths assaulted the artists. During this Saurabh Das, Raja Dhar, Subhradeep Mukherjee, and others were badly beaten up. 

Today, Saurabh Das and other artists held a press conference at Siliguri Journalists Club regarding the issue. Saurabh Das and other artists said that they suspect that the college could not pay the due payment of the first programme which they owed them Rs 80,000. Alleging failure to make the payment the college took such steps. They further alleged that even the police administration was of no help when they tried approaching the police administration. Thus they will approach the court for fair justice.
