Siliguri Municipal Corporation has not taken any initiative to prevent dengue: Councilor Saradindu Chakraborty

Siliguri, 15th September: Just when the situation was returning to normal after a pandemic now the outbreak of dengue has gripped the city. The number of dengue patients is increasing in different wards of Siliguri. And after dengue claimed the life of one person on Tuesday, residents of the city are in panic. In this context, CPM councilor Saradindu Chakraborty of Ward No. 29 slammed the SMC for not working toward containing the dengue virus and accused of negligence. 


The councilor took to the streets on Thursday and launched a campaign in his ward. Awareness regarding dengue was raised among the residents through miking in different areas of the ward. Along with this, disinfectant and bleaching powder were sprayed in the drains of the ward. Councilor Saradindu Chakraborty said that the people were made aware of the measures to take in order to prevent dengue.
